We’ve hit the ground running with a brand-new release to kick the New Year off. Formidable version 3.05 is now live!
We recently released an update that made using add-ons simpler. But today we're pleased to say that we've updated Formidable even further, to cover the new WordPress Gutenberg editor.
Formidable version 3.05 has brought some improvements for both our free and Formidable Pro users. Here are main changes we've been working on to make building forms in WordPress simpler:
New form and view blocks
There have been plenty of concerns about Wordpress 5.0 and the new WordPress Gutenberg editor over the past few months.
So, what does this mean for our Formidable users?
Our update makes building forms simpler. We've made it easier to add a form or a view to a page through the new WordPress block editor. From now on, there will be no need to copy and paste short codes to add a new form or view. This handy feature saves you valuable time.
You can see how to add the new blocks below:
Forms can then be selected, customized and added, as shown below:
For more information on how to use the new blocks, please see the docs on how to publish a form with a block.
Improved white label option
As well as the WordPress block editor, we have made changes to our white label form builder. We've made a little tweak to how our logo is displayed. While we've never been one for the "Powered by Formidable Forms" taglines, the logo has still been displayed in certain form sections in the back-end admin area.
However, we want to make our forms more in keeping with what you want your own clients and customers to see. So, we have added the option to remove the Formidable icon in the menu, the short code builder button and within the blocks themselves. This helps to make everything a bit cleaner and ensures the forms' style matches your branding.
Overall, we've also used this update to fix a couple of little bugs within Formidable's code. For example, the HTML field wasn’t saving when the bottom button was used on a form builder, but this is now fixed.
We want to make building forms with the WordPress block editor simpler than ever. So we’ve got plenty more feature releases and updates coming to Formidable in the future. Keep your eyes peeled and we’ll keep you updated. To follow our updates more closely, you can view our Changelog.
